I watched preventable disease take people's lives apart. So I started doing the opposite.
I spent my early career caring for people whose bodies had stopped working. Strength gone. Independence gone. The quality of their days worn down by metabolic dysfunction and chronic disease that had been decades in the making.
Most of it was preventable. Not all of it, but most. After a while you can't stop seeing the pattern: insulin resistance, hormones slipping, muscle wasting, inflammation, the slow grind of small things nobody looked at. By the time someone landed in my clinic, the window to prevent any of it had closed twenty years earlier.
